    Seahag & ffflhtcui,

In a previous post you were discussing the Lyndall brake pads (the "Z" pad and the Gold).

Have either of you (or anyone else) installed or used this pad on your bike?

My Heritage comes with only one front brake rotor ( I wish it had dual front rotors like the Road Kings) and I want to be sure I'm optimizing my stopping power.

I've been thinking my next upgrade will be to put on better brake pads and install braided brake lines in an effort to decrease my stopping distance.

And after reading that thread on Close calls with Cages, I've got a bit more incentive to get it done.

Anyway... I'd appreciate some opinions / advice on improving stopping power. What pads are good, what other mods can be done to shorten stopping distance?

    Thanks,

    SISK

Life's tough... but it's tougher if you're stupid!

you can't go wrong with LRB

I used the golds for my last set and they are just as CD reported in his review of them here: http://www.directparts.com/static/articles/brakes.htm
I would have tried the Z's this time but I was late on checking the condition of the golds until we were about two days from departing for the Black Hills this spring and I didn't want to go with the golds nearly worn out...so I picked up some SBS sintered metal from my dealer...they cost me as much as the Z's and while they work better than stock they are not what I was used to with the Lyndall golds. I wish I'd have checked them sooner and I could've gotten a set of Z's shipped off from direct parts in time :( oh..well... Maybe when this next set is shot I'll have the money to go with the polished rotors that were made to work with the Z pads...if you haven't read the direct parts review heres that link.: http://www.directparts.com/static/articles/lyndallbrakes.htm From what I've heard on other forums, they work well with the stock rotors as well.
