Has any one put the lower profile shock on a 09 or 2010 Ultra? Was wondering how it handled with the lower profile shock since the rear end change on the 09 and 2010. And possibly the new seat if its comfortable as they claim for the 09 and 2010.?

I can tell you the new seat on the 09 is comfortable but does sit taller. A lower shock might help.

I was told the lower shock may make the new Bike ride like a buck board, but the stealer is telling me the 09 and 10 redesigned rear end will be fine with the lower shock and it will get me to same seat hieght as the Streetglide. Stealer also says the seat was redesigned but when I go to the Motor Company web site nothing is mentioned of the seat.... Would need a seat that will NOT set me higher...lol...so better stear clear the Hammock seat.

Has any one tried this new Zepplin seat? Seems if ya had hip issues and lower back issues it would help a great deal...just wonder if it will keep you low to the ground and not higher like the Hammock seat?....I officially belong to the Gezzer Glide Club now....lol

I'm pretty sure the stock street glide shock is the HD Low Profile shock, you can search ebay for new take off SG shocks.
Mean City Cycles seems to have a pretty good rep for redoing your stock seat the way you want it and increasing comfort in them.

Thanks for the tip on Mean city seat. Going to have the stock Geezer seat done at mean city. The shock low profile is the same shock on the Street Glide according to HD.
    Thanks for the info.

Just might want to pump em up a little if you have the saddlebags and tour pack loaded and a passenger.

09 and up shocks are different than early hd shocks so don't go swapping for a used older HD pair or take offs from before 09..

I ordered new low profile shocks when I bought the bike, hope the stealer won't replace with old shocks after I bought new ones. I had assumed the old shocks would not mount to the new Frame.....

On the Streetglide I kept the air pumped up to near the max maybe I should keep the Geezer Glide pumped to may, since I am good sized just not tall...lol..
I would not be overweight If I were 10 ft tall!!!

Talked to Progressive about the same thing you are askin.
They told me the reason the Ultra rode so good was because of the travel area in the shocks.
They highly suggested to not use shorter shocks on my bike.

I ordered a set of these and then had my Appendix to rupture,
Somebody on this site has them and is making a pattern.

A friend of mine put a lowering kit on his Ultra and the rear tire took out the wiring that goes up the inside of the rear fender. He replaced the wiring with another stock wiring set and raised the air pressure in his shock, same thing happened again. Its now back to stock. Something to think about anyway.
I think a lower seat may be a better answer.

How much will that change the angle of the shocks? Will you lower the front also?

It moves the angle back and down. you should put between 25-30 lbs of air in yer shocks also.

Heck no it ain't goin to lower the front.
I don't want to lower the front either.
If you can lower yer rear from 1=2 " how much do you need, have yer seat cut down.

I want a bike that rides like a Cadillac, not a loggin truck.:D

Chucktx came over today and brought me brackets back.
Him and my other buddy Ricky put the bike on the table and ChuckTx. put the brackets on the 1st hole. It dropped the bike about 1".
Had plent of clearance to go lower too.
Ricky rode it around the block and said he likes it, he wants to git him a set now.

    Thanks ChuckTx. !

    I appreciate the help dude.:D

Wonder why the SG rides good with the lower shock and no wireing problems in the fender on the 08 model? Always kept about 30lbs of air in SG at all times and rode two up a good bit....but I most certainly dont want to bottom out in the fender and eat the wireing up...I just had them installed last Friday and have not got to ride the bike yet other than a mile or so.
