I am assuming that I will not have to clearance the main bearing housing for Red Shift .575 cams?

I'd stick then in the back cam bearing and turn them and just check for good luck.

    Don't assume nothing.

    What year is the RG?

There was barely enough room prior to 06 in the twin cam chest for large lift
cams and you had to hog them out a bit, after that maybe in 07 and up HD changed the cams and cam plate and at the same time made more room in the bike for the 103/110 configurations on the board.

I'm going from memory on the year, so you do need to check, the rear cam lobe can
hit the cases inside if you have too much lift.

i had plenty of room but all cases are not the same remember they are cast so there is always core shift just do the same thing we did with the other set like cardboard said put them in the case and spin them . if they dont touch take a light look in and make sure you have sixty thou and your good. tdc lift on those is close to 208 with the roller rockers you have.

Best to do this before cases are sent out for the Timken conversion and wheels set? Thinking about shavings if indeed the housing needs to be clearanced?

you dont need a timken conversion first off your cases are set up for timken bearings and any set of cases you buy aftermarket will be set up that way aswell. also if your buying aftermarket cases weather they are jims or sns or delkron they come with mega clearanced over half inch of room . they mill that area out . the last set of cams i installed in a customers jims 131 ci motor was over 658 lift i had a ton of room.

How I read the description in the SE catalog is that the HD cases are equipped with the lefty bearing. Not the Timken.

thats late model crap . and you could not give me a set of se cases for free and if they did i would toss them in the trash . fn junk . your style case is 10 times better. ricks 124 is built on stock 01 cases 10 years ago makes 135. 142 torque and he beats the dog shit out of it . we ride to daytona every year together . and every week end it does not rain we ride over 200 miles in one afternoon .at hiway speed constant 3,000 to 4.000 rpm range im yet to even pull the rocker boxes on that motor. its been built for over 10 years and was a dyno drag bike for 3. stock hd cases!!!!!!! so a set of replacement sns cases is more than enough and there chep for what you get

Should I find used cases and go from there?
    Used 01 cases?

The catalog shows 99-06 available. Just saying.

the problem with buying used cases is the vin number is etched in the cases so your vins wont match and if the ass hole you bought the cases wants to be a dick and say thats his motor and has the title guess what your out a motor .cases are not that pricey
