On my 98 RK I need to replace the 50amp main breaker cause I broke it. HD discontinued this part. I was wondering what kind of main breakers are on the new bikes? What type did they change it too? Maybe I'll try to upgrade mine.

HD converted the breaker to a 50Amp Maxi Fuse, you could do that as well, it eliminates the breaker issues too.

I think you can get the breaker at any autoparts store, that's where I got mine for a replacement and lo and behold it was about half the cost...

what hrk said......if there is a truck parts store near you.....big trucks use a 50amp circuit breaker....peterbuilts and kenworths actually have them mounted on the dash and are manual reset. larger boats also use breakers.....just a thought........

I finally found the right amperage at NAPA. They where very dusty as if they where hanging there a long time. I bought 2 just in case.

The old one actually was doing it's job well. I had a loose connection and that was probably causing the amperage spike. The best part was that it reset itself and I was able to get going again within a minute or so. I like that better than a fuse. This bike has never left me stranded - knock on wood.

I've had two go nuts, resetting all the time, nothing like the backfire to make people look LOL

The 50 amp max fuse is better, safer for the bike, breaker might reset, then pop, then reset, then pop (mine did) and can destroy electronics that way, Fuse pops, done, nothing is going to get hurt..

Depends on your thoughts on destroying your ignition, dash, etc...

Breaker is still good idea, fuse is better..
