i have installed H-D slip-on mufflers, the black, slash or baloney cut, the angle faces down, not out. i put on a ness big sucker a/c, with their diecast cover.i bought your stage one kit. i put in the 48 slow jet, 195 main jet. i got the ez-just screw. got the carb back on. did the adjustment as the instructions called for. the transition from idle to part throttle is much better, i thought it ran ok before ,but it runs much better now. checking the wot as the instuctions call for when i back off throttle it seems to excelerate more. i don't run at wot ,so should i change to a larger main jet?

If the pull is only slight when letting off the throttle (at WOT) then I wouldn't worry about it. However if you can feel a strong surge then the main will need to go up to a #200. A main jet that borders on lean will keep your mileage up, as long as its not too lean. If you think you still need a larger main jet shoot me a message or email.

i'll ride it some more and check the wot a few more times and see just how strong it is. if i can decide how strong the pull is, by seeing how much if any speed increase, there is. when i get an answer i'll get back to you.

i put on a 7 inch air cleaner cover, it lets in a little less air than the ness 8 inch cover. the wot check is much better now. no surge or acceleration. i stepped down to the 46 pilot jet. by then with the rain and late hour i didn't get to adjust the pilot screw. i thought the 48 might have been a bit big. the ends of the mufflers where getting sooty. the milage dropped about 6-7 miles to the gallon. i was expecting a change, was getting aroud 52 how around 45. i haven't pulled the plugs to look at them yet. i may pick up a couple sets to check the settings a little closer. this cover lets me set my foot flat on the highway pegs, the ness cover wouldn't, neither did the stock cover. that is the main reason i changed the air cleaner. after a few hours with my leg bent around the air cleaner it would cramp up. thanks for the help.
