Gave my older daughter my MP 22, so I needed a new one for myself.

Went with the 45/22 of the Mark III series, LGS had several and I was
tempted by the SS Target/Hunter 6 inch model, but in the end picked
up this Mark III with the 45 style lower and changeable grips.

Comes with the upper mounting rail for an optic sight, so I need to get a nice red dot

Can't wait to get to the range, they had it down today for cleaning, some work etc.

    It is, Ruger MkIII 22/45

I was going to get the full metal version Mk III
but I like the fact that I can change grips on this
if I want and any standard 45 grips will fit.

Gonna get me a red dot for it too..

I had a MkIII target back around late 70's, When they offered(I think) a 7 or 7& half " heavy barrel. 'Started having feeding problems. Tried new ruger mags, after market mags,Seemed to only jam while in matches. Damn neer threw it at the target many times.

Back in the early 80s I had a Ruger Bull Barrel with a weight attached at the bottom of the barrel. Shot competition for a long time with that pistol and it was very accurate. Was a fun pistol to shoot and won the league championship 3 times with that Ruger. Lost it in a fire when the indoor range burned down one weekend. Never had a problem with feeding on it and wished I still had it.

Yeah, mine was the long bull barrell model. was Very accurate had a trigger kit installed, which added some more pts.to my scores and thumb rest walnut grips. But then the missfeeds started. Tried all kinds of ammo and mags, no good. Was about to send it back to ruger( I know they would have fixed it) when I got a good offer for it and sold it. BTW, Ruger is the best company you could ever deal with. Customer satisfaction is their one goal. They fixed my Redhawk( which my home gunsmithing screwed up) for no charge. Came back to me with the sweetest trigger on any .44 I ever shot.

That's cool that Ruger stepped and took care of you like that. Only gun I have had to send back so far was a XD their model XDS. Like you it would not feed or eject properly. Got it back and still plagued with problems so I sold it and bought a Sig 45, no problems with that one.

Told my buddy several months ago about this gun. He started lookin and bought one.
He said he can hang golf balls on strings and hit them.
Really, really likes the gun. Said you can go threw 30 shells before you know it.
Said if somebody came in the house it would be real stopper.
I said why do you think I told you to get it.
Your wife will love that pistol

PMR is a good gun, problem is finding them
Kel-Tec can't keep up, I saw one in a used case
and almost bought it, went back next day and
    it was gone.

Might pick one up because it holds 30 rounds
and will shoot 22 mag rounds.
