That is good news. But the riders in Michigan will have to pay for more insurance. Insurance companies have been behind this mess since the beginning, and now they are going to get a bigger slice of pie for NOT wearing a helmet. The b$$$$$ds get you both ways.

I think I would wear the helmet rather than cough up the extra insurance.

Everyone thinks that until they want the check, then they want the
ins company to have enough money to pay the bill...

If you knew how much fraud is in motorcycle claims
you'd understand why premiums are so high.

Laws do protect riders and there is no shortage of
attornies that will write the carrier and obtain huge
settlements for repairs that should be 1/10th of the
    costs,

I know of 4 or 5 people that have gotten huge checks
for almost no damage. One paid over $6500 and his
total repairs cost? $45 if that... Pocketed $6455
and he never sued (this time) last time he got close to $80K
out of a bike wreck that had maybe $1500 in damages and
he had no physical damage. simply sued the carriers
for potential damages and they wrote the check.

You want lower premiums, change the way the laws
work to run out the shidt...

You must either work for or own a insurance agency.

Big insurance companies are among the top in the nation and word for profits.
