Ater lookin for leaks that seemed to be coming from the primary,
The Spyke starter I put on was leakin in the inner seal.
When Chucktx had me to put tranny fluid in the primary, with it being thinner it showed where it was coming out at.

Yeah you posted this a while ago, but that is OK, I like talking about smoking meats, I used to do it a lot before I started school. Now I do not have a lot time at all to do that. What kind of would do you prefer?

That's cool. But for me I like to have consistent tasting food, especially when I have buddies over. I like to use a brand of rub called Durkee's. That is some really good stuff. When I smoke ribs (spares) I like to use Oak. What about you?

I have always wanted to try pecan but I have no easy access to it unless I want to pay up the butt to get some shipped to me. Have you ever tried Pear wood?

I used to like apple a lot but for some reason I lost my tasted for it. Maybe a little too mild. pear is similar to apple but distinct. I assume you do some smoking also?

mine are home made........cardboards are borrowed........lol

the weather is not conductive for apple or pear trees....not cold enough. pecan is my favorite, hickory and oak is next. most folks dont know how to smoke/cook with mesquite...they get it too strong and overpowering. turns the meat nasty!

I agree that mesquite is kind of gross. When I have more time again, I would like to buy myself a Tejas smoker. I have cooked on one of those before and I was really impressed with it. Do you have a favorite cut meat that you like to cook?

I have used my weber for smoking but it just is not the same. Especially when I throw down a few racks of spares.!

Check out this website. KickAssBBQ is ALL about smoking meat.

I took my dad to this because he was just getting into smoking at the time. We had an awesome time. A LOT OF FUN!:D
