Thinking of adding to my collection of hats. Had to ride into a blustery wind and my open face helmet and sunglasses drove me crazy. I'm thinking about going modular for windy and/or cold riding days and was wondering if any you guys have any recommendations. I do ride behind the Harley removeable windshield most of the time. With a face shield mounted on the open face helmet I get buffeting up under the shield along with the rain so that sucks. I've heard good things about the Shoei but price is a turn off unless the other ones are a waste of money. What do you think?
    thanks in advance.

My open face is an HJC, in fact, most of the Harley helmets are HJC. Did she get a modular HJC?

no she got a half helmet with removable neck skirt, CS-2N or something like that. I have a full face HJC that my grandson wears when he rides with me, I've got freinds that wear modulars and swear by them.
Check with cardboard I think he wears a modular helmet.

I've always used the retro bubble face shield with a 3/4 helmet and they work great. Keeps out wind, bugs, etc. I don't use a windshield, so this works as a sort of portable windshield.

I've got Panoptyx convertible googles (foam inserts detach) and a hanky for when the sand is blowing hard. Anything else is just a cage to me.

I agree up to a point. <y favorite helmet for summer is my Harley "hybrid" shorty. But with the wind blowing 40-50. temps in the 30-40 F range, I still ride and maybe my age is showing but the "Cage" over my head sounds a little more comfy at those times.
