    Good morning eveyone! Clear, Sunny and just a might warm....temps at 0600 about 85, temps at 1000 soaring over 110....ended up going to the pool....water was NICE!!! Pool deck was SCORCHING!!! (note to self, next time bring flip flops for on deck! ) The biggest problems with going to the pool in a combat type theater....LOTS of guys in swim suits...NOT as many gals..... so scenery was pretty slip picking for me.... Now, some of the GALS may think otherwise!!! [​IMG] [​IMG] I read my daughter a book.... speaking of daughter...the family went to Wisconsin to visit family....Received an email with some photos of my daughter.....after she had gone salmon fishing in Lake Michigan.....caught a 12 pounder!!! WHAT a FISH!! I am jealous on 2 counts.... never been salmon fishing AND have not caught a fish bigger then 10 pounds..... now SHE is 2 up on me, and she is only 7!!! Oh well, I am proud of her!

    I am now approximately 1/2 way through my tour.....I know...kinda lame....only 4 months, but I am looking forward to the end. Miss the family and the riding! Hope you all have a great rest of the day!!!

    Stay safe. I have a friend at Camp Victory, name of SGM Coots, if you by chance run into tell him that ol' drill sargeant from KY said hey. I start my RN classes this August, took 18 months to get back in but I did and the sweet thing is that my youngest daughter is going thru with me. Stay safe and thanks for your sacrifice.

    Hey! I finally got the package off last Saturday. Hopefully you'll get it soon. No homebaked cookies, but I threw in some classics.

    Don't feel so bad about your daughter. I helped my son buy a car from across the country. It's the same make and model as mine, only newer, less mileage, and he got a better deal than I did. Right after I helped him out with the sales tax on it, he got a huge promotion at work and is making almost as much money as me. I don't know if I should be :mad: or :D . Obviously I'm glad, but it makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong. :gah:

    Drillsarge, I'll keep an eye out for him....HOPE I don't see him...in my business, don't really want to see ANYONE that I know......not on business anyway!!! I don't always know where people are from (which FOB), but will keep an eye out! I am the only male nurse now on working the WARD at the Balad Hospital.....I am not hard to miss!!!

    Hot, am already looking for the box!!! I find that MOST the time, packages take about 1 week or so....sometimes less, sometimes a bit more. Trying to keep in one piece..... busy...so tired all the time. Hot all the time..... oh well.....1/2 way done.....can't wait to get home and relax!

    Wow, over half-way already. Keep busy and you'll be home in no time AFN.

    I feel bad that I haven't had a chance to send a package to ya. The new job at UMC (county hospital in Las Vegas) has me working many hours now. The 12 hour shifts don't allow you to anything else on work days. Hell, they want you to work OT every off day. What I don't understand is a friend who just graduated from nursing school in May was told there weren't any openings for grad nurses, yet we're short-handed on the night shift every night.

    Drill Sarge, glad to hear you're going to nursing school..too cool that you're doing it with your daughter. Once we get some experience, we can walk into practically any hospital in the US and get a job. Best part is..I love what I'm doing now more than any other job I've ever had.

    Hey Chris... Got another load of cookies being baked this weekend and will launch 'em your way next week before I head back to hills to go trout fishing in the nice, cool mountains.... sorry, I just had to do that :D I'll duck and run now. Keep yer head down and thanks for what you do bud.

    Good luck pulling in some keepers!!! I always say that a bad day of fishing is STILL better then a good day at work......

    Box got here yesterday!:D Had a GREAT selection! I am enjoying the Jerkey LOTS! Gave one of the squirt guns to my roommate...he should have fun with it! I plan on using a couple of them in the next day or so! Can't wait to try out that cooling bandana...looks interesting. Had not seen anything like that before! Magazines look good also! Have not looked at a MAD mag for YEARS!!! that is on my list of things to do in the next day or 2!!! Thanks!!!
