I have a Harley motor with no frame. It is a twin cam 88, fuel inj. "B" motor. I was wondering if the letters and numbers stamped in the case can be de-coded to reveal the year of mfg. and any other data. There are many sites that break down the frame vin but I can't find any help in identifying the motor.
    Thanx

the motor # should be the same on the frame, matching #'s at least it was on mine before a frame switch.
