They could be spending our money on studying the mating habits of frogs .

I like the idea of the ads too. I am all for any program that might increase awareness for those who do not understand what it's like out on the roads for riders. As long as it doesn't turn into some convoluted bureaucratic system that ends up just sucking money out of bikers with mandatory fees and crap. Like the boater's safety courses in some states, like mine.

Ads would be good. Nevada has had billboards about motorcycle awareness to let drivers know we're out there. Not sure they work, but nice jesture.

I know my daughter was required to take driver's ed here in MA unless she wanted to wait until she was 18 to get her license. They did spend a little time explaining to them that bikes don't have fender benders and that they sometimes make maneuvers that car drives don't need to make so they should give bikers plenty of room on the road.

That should be emphasized more in mu opinion.

You know when I took driver's ed I don't recall them saying anything about bikes. Been a long time ago and don't know what they do now but a section on how to deal with bikes on the road in a driver's ed course does sound like a great idea.

Yeah. I took driver's ed like 25 years ago. They didn't mention a thing about bikes. My daughter just took it about a year ago. I think the MMA (Massachusetts Motorcycle Association) lobbied for it.

I went through driver`s ed 37 yrs ago, and back then the only mention of motorcycles was to tell us that a motorcycle 100 yards ahead of you on the road can be hidden by any object no thicker than a pencil. I wonder if any driver`s ed course anywhere still mentions even that basic fact.
