    Hey all,
Anyone have any experience with a motorcycle turntable / spinner?
It would make it easier to get the bikes out of the barn especially when all my other stuff is packed in there. It's uphill onto the grass when I back out and i'm getting old and decrepit. I think there's a BMW with reverse but I want to stay with what we've got.
I've seen some turntables online from $600 to over $1000 . 'Was wondering if anyone has a cheaper method... I have swung the rear around by hand but I am getting old and don't want to miss work when my back goes out :) .

    Thanks for any ideas, Steve

I would think a local weld shop could put something together for you for a lot cheaper. Something like a cheap floor jack and some angle iron.

We just use the motorcycle jack to spin em around in the garage,or if its downhill to your barn, take advantage of the hill and back the bike in.:)

Thanks guys... I knew I'd get some ideas here... it is easier to back into the garage, but it's like the old I had to walk to school as a kid routine:

I imagine you could build something like a giant lazy susan. A platform suspended a few inches above the ground, like a big turntable. One side would have an opening or a little ramp. I'm sure there are complications, weight, balancing, etc. but perhaps a carpenter or an engineer could think of a cheap version that would work.

A friend of mine leaves his Ultra on the side stand grabs the bars and seat and spins her around, course he's built like a brick wall.

That dolly is neat. Only thing I see that would get me in trouble with it is that it only has one kickstand extension. If you didn't spin it back around the other way when you rode out when you get back the extension will be on the wrong side. If I were building one I would simply put an extension on both sides and forget about it. Me being lazy that is LOL.

When I had a 1500 Goldwing  I would put it on its center stand and spin it around real easy. :D

Having a centerstand would make it easy, a small turntable would be an easy project.

Not sure what I'll end up doing. I was thinking of a front wheel chock and putting casters on it. I also like the price of the Harbor freight rig that Chuck found, but I'm not sure my girlfriend would be able to use it as she ain't much over 100lbs. Might be just as easy to do some major landcaping and cut into the hill a bit. Hope to build a garage closer to the house someday. Once it snows there ain't much getting the bikes out for a while. It's almost 100 yards in back of the house.

I do appreciate all the ideas!
    thanks, Steve

This jack is very similar to one of the ones we have also have one like the yellow one for $179 below, but didn't pay that much. If you do your own maintenance and clean wheels and need to spin em around they are very handy to have,

    Craftsman Motorcycle/ATV Jack - Model 34612 at Sears.com

The sears is a decent quality and decent price just put this link to give you a visual .
