It's time to buy tires again. Wanted some expert opinions. What brand of tires do you prefer?

:roflmao::roflmao: Also informme I was told by a tire rep for metzler That it depends on you weight & bike weight , I was going to put metz on my Daughters sporty 883 & he said after seeing My Daughter that the dunlops would be a better tire for her as she's in the small light weight area with a light bike ,But said if It was my sporty then the Metz would work

I will never run a set of Metz on any bike again. Had em go bad on me twice and one with only 4,000 miles on the rear tire blew out and shredded doing 65 on hwy 101 in Calif. You don't think that was not hard to keep it up right, scary is all I can say.
I run nothing but Dunlop now.

Yes I do, much better in the rain then the dunlops I had ,& for milage I get around 15K from the rear & I got 21k miles from the last front , I check air presure about once a week & keep it the factory specs , I talked my brother into trying a set , & he checked with other riders so he put a set on last year & said he's doubled his milage & says his FLHT ulta ride & handles better he rides cross county most of the summer months last summer he went to Canada & back he has always carried enough cash to replace the rear tire , said last summer he did,not need to change it on the road still running this summer , He ride two up & loaded down

Dunlop E3's are also an excellent tire...I got about the same mileage as Cowboy did with the Metzelers on a set of E3's and found wet weather traction was a lot better than the Dunlop 402's....Brazilian made Metzelers had some quality issues a year or 2 ago with sidewall separation...the German made ones were fine...

I think all the brazil made ones where pulled from the us market , also need to add that was with no burn outs , I ride one up about 65% of the time , the m e 880 marathon is the tire I use

I know that our dearler quit selling the Metz due to problems they had with them, don't know if they are selling em again. The Dunlop E-3 has always been an excellent tire.

I prefer the Michelin Commanders over the Dunlops. Especially on the front of my FXDWG. Does not track as bad in grooved pavement. Over all better handling and tread wear.

And now a more cheerful post from me: Man, I just got my bike back from the Indy with a new set of shoes! Nothing like new treads to make the HOG feel like a 250cc GP racer! Out carving some twisties with my new born "racer"!
