There is a lot of excitement here in my village. Jonah Hill, James Franco and Felicity Jones are in for the filming of the movie "True Story". In an interview with the local paper the film representative said that Port Jefferson was selected because it looks just like the Oregon coast! Take that FLHT!!!

Sorry, brother, there's only one Oregon Coast and none of the other coasts are comparable, and that's why Washingtonians and Californians come there
instead of their own coasts. I believe our bother FLHTbiker has some pics
that will attest to that to post sometime. Also that movie "True Story" is
actually an Oregon murder case of the Christian Longo story that in fact
occurred in Lincoln City,OR. where the pics are taken.

So the producer is lying about Port Jefferson??!! FLHT is a friend and he has posted many beautiful photos of Oregon. It truly is a beautiful state and certainly the state of NY does not even come close. However, you obviously never been to the shores of Long Island nor Port Jefferson. Your photos are very nice but the truth is they could have been taken along our North Shore, or South Shore or even our Eastern Shore (true, the west shore only has the NYC Skyline and the east river). You do get to see the sun set over the Pacific but we get to see a new day dawn over the Atlantic. Truth be told, I rather live in Oregon but Long Islanders find it very difficult to leave the island due to the shores.
Port Jefferson has a very nautical history one that can be googled. It is a quaint New England style village. My thread merely spoke of my village not the state AND was a friendly jab at a friend! HE knows me, you don't. So continue to enjoy your beautiful state and I will stand by my beautiful tiny village.

When I was a teenager I stayed in a town called Venice on the gulf coast during part of the summer of 1960. Fished standing way out in the gulf. Look out for sand spurs ouch! Great place.

:roflmao::roflmao:yea and all you and me and probably HRK (but sense nobody has ever seen him we'll never know) and a few others here can do is look and drool at those bikini clad young girls. Eye candy is all it is as they say.

I'll tell you, you have probably never seen a coast line like Oregon has. As for what he was saying about the movie. That it is why would they film something there about something that happened in Oregon when they have the real deal here.
He wasn't trying to get personal with you Fatboy think you might have taken it wrong. He is a pretty good guy I know I've talked with him a few times.

The coast and other areas of Oregon is what makes it so beautiful here in Oregon. These pics where taken on a chapter ride yesterday to a small town called Parkdale Oregon, one pic was borrowed but of the same event. They were having their blossom festival and we rode up to a grange hall for a fantastic feed with some great home made pies. Haha the goats on a lease were interesting. Two girls were walking their pet goats down the road, bet you don't see that very often.
Really don't understand why would they film something about a incident in Oregon and film it in a town in New York. Course we all know the movie industry is all fantasy anyway including their actors.

Fatboy128 I in no way meant any disrespect to you or to the beautful State of New York!!! It just seems that many folks in the East think the West Coast is always second or third rate, and that we are just a bunch of rumpkins chasing covered wagons out here. And since that Longo murder case originated here in Lincoln City, I just thought it was more appropriate it be filmed here. AND BY ALL MEANS I DIDN'T WANT TO CAST ASPERSIONS BETWEEN YOU AND MARC!!

Hey, give me a shout next time you are riding to Parkdale. I live about a mile off Hwy 26 here in Welches. You could have come to the house or I could have met you at the Zig Zag restraurant for a cup.

Was a HOG Chapter ride. They went up Hwy 14 and up the Columbia River to the Hood River bridge. Man the gorge winds were really blowing as we crossed over that steel grated bridge got a little spooky. We originally wanted to go up over Hood on hwy 26 but to much snow and gravel on the road. Still was great day.

It's ok, as Marc alluded to I can be a hothead, sorry. BTW the STATE of Ny is just ok it doesn't hold a candle to Oregon.
The reason they filmed here and not there is our Italian food. Furgitaboutit!

Oh, yeah (about the Italian food)! I think it's cool you got movie stars and cameras around. Maybe they'll have a biker scene and you and some of your buddies can get in on it.

Saw a movie company once in Pacific Grove, Calif. when they were filming "Hooch" with Tom Hanks. I was living there then and saw them shooting scenes all over the place. Never saw Hanks, though.

I know one thing Oregon can't compete with NY in and that's there restaurant food. My
son, who's been to several Yankee games, said dad the food there is just unbeliveably
good. Nothing out here to compare with it. I recall sometime in the past a meat butcher
told me that all the great beef, etc. went east from Chicago and the other mediocre beef went to the West coast.
