I have never had true duals or a bagger so this is all new to me. as we all know not the best choice in exhaust but they were on the bike to begin with and at almost a grand well im stuck with them. unless I find a used set of two into ones ill try to live with them for now . my question is has any one tried or know if the stock muffler are the same size as the rinehart muffler as far as pipe size goes maybe the stock muffler will give me some back pressure. I know im trying to band aid a problem exhaust maybe someone has tried it beats tearing it down for nothing and it never hurts to ask.

The true duals hard to tune, but you already know that...IMO a set of stock head pipes would be easier to get a good tune out of than the true duals,(rear exhaust has quite a path to follow, hard to get good scavenge with the bends in it)sometimes you can pick up a set for next to nothing from someone that installed a set of true duals,:roflmao:until you score a good 2 into1...
1-3/4" is pretty much the standard for head pipes and slip ons...

the bagger has a carb all is good with the tune . with the head work and cam thats on the bike now its flowing to fast . Its not a pig by no means it runs out good just a little lazy out the hole needs some back pressure . I would love to have a set of stock pipes . I would go the other route stock pipes and put the rineharts on them. then at least Ican have the crossover to help balance out the exhaust.

The Harley salvage store here in Portland which is one of the largest HD salvage places in the country has tones of stock header pipes. When I'm able to I can go out there and check for you.

:D I was reading a couple post laying there in the pre-surgery area. They had to take it away from me when they started to wheel me into surgery.

Good thing I didn't read that post about the yellow shark then, then they would have thought the pain was all gone :roflmao:

    Hey Baggerpaul,

I could be wrong, (just ask my wife):roflmao:, however, I believe Rinehart uses a stepped header pipe on their true dual system. It is 1 3/4" at the head and steps up to 2" at the muffler. I believe stock HD headers and mufflers are 1 3/4", so the stock muffler may not fit on the Rinehart header pipe.

    Hope this helps.
