Rode over to Beeville, Texas, to meet up with some fellas that post on the Two Wheeled Texans board. Now, I've never ridden with any of these guys before, just chew the fat on that board. Some guys from the Corpus area, apparently jealous of the other Texas areas and their get togethers, wanted to get a south Texas ride going. Beeville being equidistant to most of us, we gathered there. It's only about 80 miles for me. We had five bikes, one old F2 Honda (old tech 600cc sport bike), one Aprilia RSV (1000cc V twin sport bike), one Honda superhawk (1000cc V twin sport bike), my SV650 (a 650cc V twin sport standard), and a 1200S Suzuki Bandit (1200cc sport standard four banger). The guy on the superhawk knew the roads. WOW, I was totally unaware there were that many good roads that close to home! Everyone had a great time. We put about 100 miles on the little twisty farm to market roads around Beeville. Saw lots of sport bikes out on those roads, so it must be known and I'm just the only idiot in south Texas that's uninformed. Anyway, I know about 'em now.

To be honest, I go on these rides mainly to socialize. The riding is fun, don't mis-understand, but racing is more fun where curves are concerned. You don't ride near as hard, if you wanna survive, on the back roads. It's a lot different, not hanging it out like you can do on the track. But, I had a blast and look forward to the next one. We're socked in this weekend with rain, so no riding today.

Here's a pic of our meet up at the Whattaburger in Beeville. Hopefully, they'll chose a better place to eat next time around.
