Went there fri- Monday. Its only about 2 1/2 hours away. Off season. Not crowded. Hotels and food cheap. Did not take bike this time. Took family and dog. Still lots to see and do. Gonna go back with friends on bikes soon. Gotta a bead on some pretty decent looking watering holes. Been a while since i been there. Got a good idea of where everything is and what hotels are located.
    stocked up on fireworks too.

I was there once passing through while traveling between DoD bases for work. A niece lived there too. Lost her house in a hurricane. The city has a substantial poor section. That surprised me. Not what in envisioned of the town.

Poor people like any other person, have options.
We, all young six kids and a mother, no child support were poor when father left. We could dwell in the house of self pity pointing fingers and remaining poor. Or you can do like we did....mom went to nursing school. We all including sisters joined military then went to college. Now everyone not poor.
not towns fault having poor section.

Daytona and MB have a bit in common, there are a bit of lower income sections but thats any city, just spend a few minutes in NYC, LA, Chicago,

    Fireworks in the South! 'Merica!

Didja get any primer cord to light them off from a distance?
that's what I use, tie several together, run a line and let it do the
    work from a safe distance...

that helps, next time grab a bag of the fuse line, better to light it from 3 to 5 feet away, plus we string them in a line, so you can light off several of the items on one match.....

NYC....I heard they’ve cleaned it over the years. Gentrified some of the more run down sections like Harlem. Being NYC is a major epicenter of the northeast...
myrtle beach has hidden gems of trouble like black bike week.

NYC is a damn cesspool of increasing crime and shootings. BLM and Social Justice crap running it. Unless of course you want freebies and do crime cause you won't serve time anymore. Unless of course you're a "privileged" citizen or a cop that defends themself, then you're in the slammer. Cops are leaving in droves. Some just standby rather than run to the problem.

NYC was cleaned up with Guliani in charge,
now its reverted back, no bail program allows
revolving criminals in and out of the courts, no
reason to arrest someone who'll just walk and no
incentive to not do the crime, since there isn't any time....

Black Bike Week and Black College Reunion have
similar issues, just one has motorcycles. BCR in Daytona
was a nightmare, trashed hotel rooms, no money being spent
except on pot, beer and gas, crusing A1a and fights...

    Glad it moved on...
