Ok, I know this forum is more about fuel management, but, here's my question. I got a 97 1200 with a stock rear tire 130/90/16, I want to go fatter maybe 150, will this bolt straight-up or do I need to make mods?

    Any input would be helpful...
    thanks

    Jack

    Chuck said it all :D

But looking it up it is " A politicized issue is a social, economic, theological, spiritual, scientific or legal issue which has become a political issue, as a result of deliberate action or otherwise, whereby people become politically active over that issue."

    You'll fit right in.

Have you talked with a dealer about adding a fat tire. I have some friends here that ride Sportster who might like to know this as well

I was reading on another site where a guy said his 05 1200 Sportster cam from the factory with a 150 tire so it must be possible.

Sportster frames were redesigned in 2004, so don't bet on it.

With some changes and a lot of money I'm sure it could be done. Just how bad do you really want to do it and is it really worth the expense.

I understand there is a swing arm kit available so that a fat tire can be installed.

I'm lookin' for quick bolt-on, and for cheap, it's only a stock sporty... Unless you count the CARB work, intake, exaust, dual disc, foward controls, progressive suspension and a splash of chrome.

    Know what I mean.

i didnt get the measuments i wanted today, hope i can get them tomorrow. i have a question......who is going to mount this tire to your bike?? if it is an indy shop, they should know if it will fit or not. if your ordering on line, then they wont know. i dont do tires, as i have a great indyshop that does them for me. i take the bike, either mine or customers, to them. if they dont know if the tire will fit or not, they will try it so they know the next time one comes in. a good shop will either know or want to find answers to questions they dont know........that is the same way i am.......
