I picked up a 83 flh and it runs great except that it pumps oil out of the breather tube. I checked the compression and it is running @ 95 to 100 psi, so I don't think that it is blow by. A friend said that something in the heads ,some rubber valve might be bad. I can't find it in my shop manual. Can some one tell me if this might be the problem. I found them in the evo but I can't find it in the shovel. Thanks, harley 49266

May be its the ball check valve and screen located in the front of the oil pump on the right side case.A stuck ball will alow the oil to backflow into the cases and when you fire it up the oil will pumped through the vent line to the
    breather.

check the screen in the oil pump

There is no rubber valve in the heads on a shovel bro, thats an evo thing.
Like Bernie said, check the tappet screen in the oil pump and that check ball, it might be gummed up, or both might be. I clean my tappet screen everytime I change the oil just for good measure.
    hope this helps

Uh oh when that happens you have to remove the motor, stick in new stroker flywheels and high compression pistons, the heads must be worked over for better flow and you'll need a new set of cams and a new carb, tell the OL its for safety's sake :D
