Hi Linda...I think a cam, free flowing air filter and less restrictive exhaust would help ......sure they'll be other replies.....Al

I had a 1997 dyna but i went for pistons at wiesco.... 10.5/1
cams?(mild) then exhaust (scrm'e slipons) and scrm'e air...

that gave lots more oomph!!! but came with a price....

finding 92 octane gas out of my area here in washington st. 98022.

    You say POWER without pistons/heads.....

    WHAT eshaust do you have????
the exhaust is a MUST and air is ALSO....

list the things you have done(UN-STOCK) and Knowledgeable people on this site will have THE ANSWERS

    signed....REDHEAD ;)

LINDA, I went back to read all your previous post (questions and answers) and actually found all the answers are the BEST you will get.(good read)...
Much was answered on POWER in the many changes offered...

BUT compression is the ONE SINGLE BEST change but NOT the least on $$$$$$$ and by far NOT the most!!!

Linda, I have a 1990 Evo, with Andrews EV3 cam, lots of bottm end and midrange torque, Free flowing intake, I have a SE system and exhaust, Vance & Hines exhaust is one of the best. Exhaust system will depend a lot on the look you are after. You need to really tune the carb to those items and it will run right along with any TC88. The guys on here will not try and put anything over on you or try and sell you something you don't need. Listen and learn. Higher compression is the next step and will really help.

Yes, the ev3 cam is also a good one, had one in my 85 fxrs, and my buddy had a ev27 in his road king, for my riding style, more bottom end, I perferred the ev27, but in a light bike you might prefer the ev3, Todd

Great advice, I'll second those who have recommended a cam change and throw in my additional 2 cents for a true stage 2 setup.

    1. Cams - EV27 if you have a heavy cruiser, EV3 for a lighter bike. The EV27 has its powerband come in earlier at 2000 rpm but the EV3 is great at handling midrange power.
    2. Free-breathing aircleaner
    3. Stepped exhaust or good set of slip-on mufflers. Avoid drag pipes IMHO.
    4. Single fire ignition to fine tune timing and get the most out of your spark.

    The never ending Quest:D :D

Free flow breather, free flowing slip on mufflers and a cam swap, I also like the Crane 316-2B for stock heads and compression, along with what the others suggested.

kenfuzed cv carb kit did wonders to my 03 tc motor. if i didn't do the work myself i wouldn't have believed how much difference it made. it starts better the of idle rollon doesn't cough and spit. and the low to mid range power is vastly improved. get the easyjust mix screw too. it will even work with new a/c and muffs.

I have 1997 1340 and installed an Andrews EV-27. Nice cam, great low and midrange power. Actually, it pulls hard to above 5000 rpm, which is high as I ever turn mine. That being said, at the same time I installed +.010 Screamin' Eagle hypereutectic high compression pistons and ground the valves/seats, but this mod was my choice as it needed to be bored anyway.
The cam change and jetting will make a big difference on your bike. Easy swap.

    slippery slope

Whatever ya do. Make sure it all works well together. Or you will be adding and changing stuff, re adjusting until ya get it right. We call it around here (where I live)b "the slippery slope". Ya start out with a little bell on the the bike and wammo next thing ya know 3000 dollars later you are still not happy. :D or maybe ya are.(Stage one is not expensive but when ya keep going)
Like the other posting read. Post what ya got on there already. My buddy has the same bike we got an andrews in there. But he likes them long straight pipes. When we take off from a slow roll (mind you ,I am on my 02 wide glide)
He is fading fast shortly after I can hear him shifting at a much higher rpm than what he should be at due to them dang straight pipes. He likes them though.
So ya gotta watch what POWER you want and where ya want it.
good luck and watch that slope!!!
    later
