Need new tire after plug repair?

    Had a nail in thru the middle of rear tire on my 2001 FXDL. Had it repaired with tubless plug.Is this a safe fix?

    yes/no...........it is safe enough to get you to a place to get a proper repair........an internal repair patch...............or for greater piece of mind, a new tire......

    How many miles on tire? If it was me I’d replace it for peace of mind.

    Since you only have 2 wheels on a motorcycle how far do you want to ride knowing one of them has a defect ?

    You could patch it and then worry about it. Got to tell you nothing worse trying to control a bike at 70 MPH with a tire that goes flat. I've had that experience once, never want to again and know of a coupe who went down from a rear tire flat, he died. You got to ask yourself, is it worth it. Me I would get a new tire.

    I have plug them then had them changed out ,also had one I had to plug with about 4-5 hundred miles forgot about & when I had a new tire put on at 15k miles there was the plug ,I felt real lucky Tire was a metlzer on my E glide rear
