    Hi All,
New 05 FLHTC, 88" with stock heads and cams for now but do have some questions that I would appreciate some feed back on.

(1st) Ness or SE air box or?

(2nd) The CV carb, (shim the needle how much?) and adjust AF mix screw or change needle to the Sporster one and adjust AF screw or?

(3rd) Installing new Hooker slip ons with OEM header, what settings would you start out with on the hookers? Full TQ on left & full HP on right or set both at 50% or? I would prefer to learn toward the quieter sound as long as I don't loss a bunch of performance.

(4th) Have I missed anything (ignition or?) that would gain appreciable HP or TQ until I change to 95", cams and do the heads?

Thanks in advance for your comments :) !

A lot of times you can shim the needle and adjust the mixture if you make minor changes like mufflers. If you change the air cleaner to a free flow like SE or Ness etc, you will most likely need to rejet. You can get individual jets and needles but, I like to use kits. You get a better emulsion tube (jet holder), a selection of jets and needles. In most cases I recommend the Ness Big Sucker for the air cleaner as it is a better and less expensive unit compared to the SE.
Hooker slip ons are my favorite bagger muffler. Run the left closed to reduce flow as that side flows like crap anyway. Set the right to power and that will give you the best curve according to our testing.
An ignition can improve throttle response and mileage and can give an additional minor power boost.

    Thanks CD,
Just to be sure the left side is the rear jug & shorter pipe right?

Yep, left side is the rear jug. The stock headers should be used as an example of piss poor engineering in first year engieering classes

Yes that's the ticket, a stage 1 is a good idea, open up the performance for the least $ spent .
