?

My question is what is the best combination air intake / exhaust combo?

I have just purchased my first Harley " Breakout" 103ci 2014. I realise this may be an old issue, but the bike is a little flat in the performance area. After reading several posts here I am thinking stage 1 up grade, ie air intake, remap and slip ons. I want to keep good low down torque and a better exhaust note. Not overly loud on the exhaust side.

Thanks Johnny, happy to spend, on the right stuff. Was thinking heavy breather and screaming eagle exhaust slip ons.? Thanks for the welcome. I'm located in Sydney, a fair way from Minnesota :)

Yes the SE heavy breather and slip on's will do the trick. Other than that, no reason to spend more unless you are a real torque junkie like I am . Lol. How are things in Australia?

What kind of remap are you thinking of? The SE mufflers are not to bad and some look pretty good. K&N air filter is a great choice.

Welcome to the forum, Doug103. I have no advice for your scooter as I am into the older stuff. You will get plenty of feedback here.

Because of the EPA regulations in the USA, the bikes all run pretty lean with all the emissions crap they tack on. Maybe Down Under isn't so strict? Tear all that junk off and let your motor breathe!

Josh, it's the same here, EPA Emissions and over government, restricting!

Cow, pig and chicken farts emit more greenhouse gasses than all vehicles combined, at least that's what I read somewhere. Unless you have an antique bike or car, like both of mine happen to be, you will be subject to emissions regulations. Ahh, welcome all, to a Brave New World, where animals have more rights than people!

All kidding aside, I hope you find the things you need to tweak more performance out of your bike, and a darned nice one at that!

FuelMoto.com can preprogram a Power Commander piggy back module tuner to the air filter and mufflers you install. But, you being in the land down under I don't know if they will ship there. Good luck.

I guess first thing is budget. How much coin to spend? What are the hoped for results? Need to make the two match before you start to avoid disappointment.

Good question RG, I am happy with the bike but I want that quality sound with the right fuel delivery, all while preserving high torque.
Use is cruising in a relaxed style. I am over burning off at the lights and knee down in the corners.

Had a guy stop over the house last year with a CVO Softtail, he had a Patriot pipe, 2 into 1 tunable exhaust pipe, sounded beautiful. He claimed he got the best results on the dyno with it over any others, and it is adjustable for quiet or loud. Anyone out there have any experience with one of these?

lots of pipes out there, V&H has good stuff deep nice sound,
a pro pipe HS would sound and look good, or a set of duals
with new headers, you'll need a K&N filter to replace the stock
filter and a tuner to handle the extra air.

Fuel Moto does powercommanders they are plug and play for the most
    part.
