So, there is now going to be a new HD shop in San Antonio (actually is already here, but the grand opening isn't until January, and they don't have things FULLY set up yet). Was talking to one of the Managers today... they will be one of the DynoJet tuning centers for the power commander....don't have the dyno set up and running yet...but he was thinking that a 3 hour run to custom map a bike MIGHT be running around 150 through them! Hope that this ends up being the final cost! He wasn't for sure yet, but he was stating that they were hoping to be "cost efficient" meaning low cost to the consumer.

Our dealer here in Portland is now advertizing as the MSRP dealer.

The bikes here are getting cheaper because of the exchange rate but there seems to be some extra charges to bring the bikes back up to a higher level. The problem here is that there is a boom going on...seems everyone has a pile of money and they're not afraid to spend it. I'm glad I don't have to spend money to buy the house i'm in now...couldn't afford it!!!! What I find funny is that freight and PDI is cheaper for a Ducati than it is for a Harley.

The HD dealer here in Las Vegas has been advertising bikes $1000 or more below MSRP in the paper for the last month plus. Most likely they're 06' models and not the new '07 models, but even those aren't more than MSRP. It pays to shop around..that's for sure. Nobody should ever pay more than MSRP for a bike.

    Where you been lately SK?

I think there was a discussion a long time ago on the old Crossroads board about how long can the dealers keep asking and getting prices above and beyond the MSRP price. Well it appears that this is now happening. There is still a dealer in Beaverton OR that puts higher prices on their bikes and says that as long as the people are buying them at the higher price why should they sell for MSRP. The area is full of Calif. transplants and lots of RUBS so no wonder. The biggest dealer here is now advertising as the MSRP dealer.

What gets me is the asking price the dealers are trying to get out of used bikes. There as high as new bikes.

I don't know as I've never been in the market for a Harley..probably never will. But it's good to finally see prices become more realistic.

The Harley prices are coming down in my area, but you still have to shop around for the best deal. I just put a deposit on a 2007 Road King Police bike, (demo, but is in the back now and I'm the only person that rode it) and I felt like I got an outstanding deal. The knocked off $1,600 from the sticker, and waved the freight and set up costs. Gave me a fair trade on the 2004 Road Glide also, but I may sell it to a friend, as I still have that option. With the bike being a Demo, they have to have it there until March, so I have time to try to move in anyway.

Something I didn't know until about 3 weeks ago, the Police bikes are 103 CI from the factory...... :D  I have a Stage one download with V & H dual ovals, breather kit on the Road Glide, and it runs really well. The Rk with the 103 CI, will pull harder at 1/3 throttle at 2500 rpm, than the Road Glide does if you really wring it out. And that's with the RK being stock....

Anyway, just thought I'd tell ya's. I haven't been over here for awhile, thought I'd say hey....

That seems pretty cheap, alright. I know Billy Wiese got $25 a run on his dyno. I never bought any dyno time so have no idea what any of my bikes are making, but if you wanna get the jetting done right and quick, the dyno is the way to do it. On my race bikes, I just seat of the pants it. But, on a race bike, nothing really matters except the main jet, to some extent getting the pilot in the right general range. I don't have any EFI bikes.
