Hello all, new to the forums here, gotta question. My nephew and I are riding down to the Jersey Shore (Ocean City). Looking for suggestions on a nice way to get down there. Were coming from Lansdale/Perkasie area. Google mapping gives me 73 to Black Horse Pike (322), or 206 to Black Horse Pike. I also saw state rd 539 on the map that looked interesting. Anyone have any ideas or thoughts they would be willing to share? We are just looking for a nice ride that doesn't include the AC Express Way or Garden State Pkwy if possible. Thanks...

    Matt

Thanks baggerpaul. What's the protocall on this forum? Should I seek out Charlie 46 and/or fatboy 128 or wait for them to contact? Being new, I don't want to be "that guy"...if you know what I mean.

I'd like to help out but I always used to get lost in Jersey whenever I tried to use the back roads. Pretty but confusing. I'd now just use my GPS up there, give myself plenty of time,Fatboy will chime in I'm sure he knows that area better'n me.

Wish I could help ya out but I can't. I'm from Long Island and had work along the shore years ago but I traveled the GSP and AC Xpswy. Suggestion: take a map and look for the Blue routes

If you or one of your buddies are a HOG member, check their HOG travel guide. That is really good for planning trips.

Thanks guys. I'm just messing around with google maps and checking out several different routes. Best ride so far seems to be taking county rd 539 out of Allentown, NJ but there is no direct way there from Perkasie. If we go that route it'll probably take close to 4 hours. My nephew has a crotch rocket, not sure what the comfort level is on those things for a longer ride. Havent been on one of those since my early 20's. Enjoy your trip to PA Fatboy 128!

Thanks, always do. Come here often. Son went to Valley Forge then Temple. Now has 3 mo old twins. From what I know this area of NJ is tough to find scenic roads. Good luck.

Looks like we're gonna just stick to something simple. My old bass player knows a really nice way, but there are so many back roads involved, we'd get lost trying to follow directions. Best of luck to your son with the 3 mo. old twins, Fatboy 128. My wife and I have been busy with just 1 less than two year old. I could not imagine 2 of them...
