The new striker-fired CCW Kimber Solo 9mm. All metal, 17oz and single-stack thin. These specs fill a niche between some of the lighter 9mm's that are less pleasant to shoot, and the bigger heavier ones that are less ideal to carry. Pricey, but maybe it's perfect for you? Sweet little piece, but I'd hold out for a deal!

The new Kel-Tec KSG 12ga. 2 3/4" bullpup shotgun. 14 rounds in two 7-round tubes, with a selector behind the trigger guard. Innovative and VERY COOL...

When the snow ices over on top, ya' just cut a hole in it. When the pheasant tries to get out ya' just sneak up behind him and kick him in the ice hole.

I picked up light weight Taurus 5 shot 2 inch barrel in 357 Mag revolver. You fire that with one hand you better be holding on, nice kick to it. Makes for a nice potent piece to carry in the inside pocket of a vest when riding.

I've got a Smith & Wesson just like that, think they call it a J frame, you're right about a bit of a kick when you fire it. Mines hammer less, that part I don't much care for, but it is what it is. one powerfull little jewel.

Gotta shoot'em 3 or four times with the 9mm - .45 acp only needs 1 round to do the job.
I do like the looks of the 12ga. - compact with a whole lot of misery for the bad guys. Just wonder how long before big brother decides it's not for the general public to have and passes some a**hole law to stop us from gettin one.

HarleysLR, I looked at the Taurus with the hammer recessed in or virtually hammerless and opted for the one with the hammer.

I also thought about the one called The Judge but liked the 357 Mag. Its got some pretty good stopping power to it.

The Judge 410 shot gun or 45 cal.

My mom had a 38 Colt with a 1" barrel.
I could put a coke can on a fence post and walk 15' from it and couldn't hit it.

A Ruger SP101 is a nice gun. you can git it if I remember right in a 357 and shoot 38 + P shells in it.
Had one of these once. Think i might of sole it to my sister in law.
Its a perfect gun for a woman. And a super good calibur.

    Really a good gun.

I'd like to get a double barrel 410 and saw it off to carry in the saddle bags, but all I can find is an over and under 410/22.

Isn't a sawed off shot gun illegal. I know it is here in Oregon anyway.

The Judge is a nice pistol. But for everyday carry the Ruger SP101 is a super nice pistol and a lot easier to carry than a shotgun.
This is even a nice pistol for a lady to carry. The size is great.
You can git it with different size barrels. Like the 3" barrel too.
The 357 has awsum knock down power.
And the 38+P that it will also shoot ain't no slouch.

That looks a lot like my Taurus that I picked in 357 mag. They make in all different calibers and different barrel lengths.

Got a Stainless steel Ruger Blackpowder revolver that looks a lot like that. Pretty acurate even at 30-40 yards. I've even hit metal tagets at 50 yards with it. I put rubber grips on mine.
