I have a new aftermarket oil tank.looked rough inside,so i put bb's in it and shook the heck out of it.then flushed with diesel.repeated several times.I fear some missed dirt may come out later.I would really like to put a glass in line filter between tank and oil pump to see particals before they hit the pump.will my evo pump pull through a filter?I know it pushes through one.also,,,it seams the oil goes through the motor before its filtered then returned to the tank.??

no it wont pull. it is mostly gravity fed with some suction from the pump. the filter would have to be such a large micron that it would be of no use. clean it again as you did, but strain through a paint filter or hosiery to inspect what comes out.......repeat until it is clean........

I suspected that...it seems the only good aftermarket parts are expensive for a reason.

    Recipe for a clean tank
    1. empty tank
    2. fill with handfull of BB's
    3. Put cap back on
    4. Hand to a crackhead in withdrawal
    5. stand back and watch him shake it or go to work and return that night
    6. Take tank out of crackheads hands and send him to detox
    7. Empty tank of BB's - mount tank on bike
    8. Fill with oil and ride
