I am a first time Harley owner and I would like to put new pipes on to the bike. I have a 2005 Dyna Super Glide with EFI. I am planning to use Vance & Hines Big Shot Staggered pipes ,a Power Commander and aScreaming Eagle hi flo air cleaner. Has anyone used this combination before if so is it good or bad. Also I am going to install myself , is there anything I should be aware of ?

Those are pretty "standard" upgrades and are relatively simple if you have some mechanical experience and the tools. Step #1 in any upgrade of this degree is to have the manual handy. That actually should be the first tool in the box!

I am doing the same combo on my 02 Softail in a couple days. Pipes and PC will be here Friday. I allready did the SE air cleaner. That was simple. Pipes and PC should be also.

Can't wait to see the differance. Only problem is winter has now set in here so it may be awhile

Same here. Just ordered all the Stage 1 kit form DP and waiting to arrive. I have an 06 Softail Deluxe and wanted to know what is the nearest dowload on my SetUp....V&H Big shot staggered, PCIII USB and K&N RK 3909 air filter. If anyone could give me the site and or mapping nos. that I could download it is very much appreciated.
I never heard a Bigshot before, is it loud without the quiet baffles? Do I need to install the quiet baffles first before putting the mufflers? What should I get from it? More HP/Torque? What is the low end etc. etc. for downloading?
Just like what CD was saying "ROOKIE BUT LOOKS PROMISSING"
By the way guys, order your parts at DP and save a lot.

Congratulations on your new bike! Your gonna LOVE the performance/sound of your bike when your done!!! Your PCIIIusb will have the download for your set-up. Use M805-208, the screamin' air, ness big sucker, etc. will work... I also have the 3909 air kit and it is awsome! If you get popping on deceleration, go into the map and change the 0% starting from 1750 rpms to +10 and the next rpm, and so on until you reach 5500 rpms. This should take care of your popping. Leave the rest ALONE!!! Let me know if you have any problems, I'll be glad to assist you.

The map would apply for about any free flow air cleaner.

I got Big Shot Staggered with quiet baffles, Power commander III and Ness Big Sucker. Bike is 2002 Heritage Softail Classic. I ordered from Direct Parts and was very pleased. I had it dynoed and it is making 77 hp and 83 torque. I like the quiet baffles. Nice sound. I just got back from an hour and 1/2 ride and it felt so good. 75 degrees here in Richmond, VA today.

On My map their is no 1750 RPM. Goes from 1500 to 2000-2500 etc.

Are you saying change all the 0's at 0 Throttle to +10 from 1500-5500 rpm's?

also is +10 simply put in the map table as 10 or do I need to add the +(Plus sign) also. I see some cells have -10 but others only have 10 with no plus sign.

Thats correct, just add the 10 in the 0% bank. 1500 rpm and on is fine. This is basically your decelaration bank, it doesn't add that much fuel but enough to keep it from starving on decelarations at any given rpm range.

I am done installing the pipe, air filter and the PCIII. Put the quiet baffles and the sound was just right for me not too loud and not too soft. I downloaded the map you guys gave me 805-208 and it says that it transfered to the PCIII. Is that all? I have nothing to do with the download? I rode the bike just around the block and did not here any popping on decellerate. Kam, I emailed you the other day. Hope you got it.

I put the new Vance and Hines pipes on this weekend along with the power commander. It sure sounds nice .My only comment is the amount of space under the seat for the commander is sure tight , that was the hardest part of the install fitting the commander in that space. Took it for a short ride Saturday and it runs great no popping or back firing. Now if the snow would quit .We are having a March snow storm in Minnesota today so it will be a couple of weeks before I can take it out again.:)
