Is this the type that has the turn signals in the speedo ? If so just might have a loose wire or crossed one

You may not have done anything wrong...it's quite possible and probable that the speedo you installed doesn't support the self canceling function for the turn signals...I'm pretty sure the self canceling feature is run off a reed switch in the stock speedo...at least that's the way it was on my '91 Sporty, I lost the self canceling when I installed an aftermarket speedo on it.

Lucifer is there anything I can do to make it work? Something I can buy, like the reed switch, or take the reed switch out of the old speedometer?

So does that mean that it would be in the wiring if the turn signals are in it?

I don't know if the reed switch is a separate item or not...I never really bothered with it,the signals worked,it passed inspection,so I just said screw it...time to ride... and just hit the switch to turn them on and again to turn them off...it was a cable driven speedo,so it would have been a little different than yours...just remember to cancel them or you'll look like a Honda going down the road with the signal flashing:roflmao:

If you have your service manual you may be able to find out how your canceling works...you may also be able to get some tech support from the manufacturer of the speedo...

Finally got to call JP cycles. They weren't that much help. Looked in service manual
and it had wiring diagram for a sportster sport.. The wiring was different than the other sportsters. Once I configured the wiring for the speedo to match the wiring code to the sport it worked like it was suppose to. :)Thanks guys for the help.
