After our thread and subsequent help putting a bike together for a soldier who lost an arm..I thought this pretty interesting.

Yamaha's upgraded FJR1300 for 2006 will have an electronic shifter..no clutch. You can still shift with your foot, but you don't have to. With the press of a button..it does it all for you..pretty cool. The price tag has gone up on the bike though. I paid $11.5k for a std 2004, with the ABS version about $13.5k. Now the 2006 ABS version is going for $15.3k (includes factory heated grips..which I paid extra for). Not sure if the non-ABS version has the electronic shifter or not..I suspect not.

I saw that this morning on Motorcycle Daily, (which I don't check daily...lol). Anybody remember the old Honda CB750-A models? There were two models of CB750's. The "A" and "S". The "A" was an outfitted with an "automatic" "Hondamatic" tranny. I still think that was a neat idea. :p
