    Hello Ladies and Gentleman,

I'm a new user here and I hope you can help me............

I'm going to rebuild my Nightrain 1340 engine (100.000miles) because there are noises inside(sigh!!!!!!!).
I'd like to install an S&S big bore kit (cranck, heads, pistons, cam etc), an Ultima 3.35" primary belt drive, a Force Winder XR as air filter for my Mikuny carb and a Crane dual fire coil.
I'm looking for torque and reliability as well, so I hope this combination is a good compromise to gain power and continue to have long ride trips by my "lady" with no issues.

What do you think about my choice?
I know S&S kits and motors poviding power and big torque but what about reliability?
If you have any experiences (good or bad) with one or all the parts I mentioned above, please help me.

    thanks and Merry Xmas,
    Johnny

PS: sorry for my crap english............I'm Italian..............ciao

Hi Johnny and welcome to BikeTalk! Assuming you are in Italy I don't know what options you have available to you. S&S makes a great Evo package and you can't go wrong with them. For the money you may want to go with a full crate replacement motor from S&S if available to you. Everyone I've known to use either the S&S kits or full engines have all been very satisfied.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

    Thanks kenfuzed for your answer......

my options at moment are 2, rebuild my engine with HD OEM parts (Harley Davidson dealer) or do the jobs I mentioned on my post suggested by an American guy who's lives here in Italy.
If you know more options please let me know (keep in mind i'm looking for reliability first).

    thanks,
    Johnny

Why not go with the HD 95 in kit for your evo ? also my son has a evo S&S moter on his bike , we took a 700 mile ride & all went well at 80mph most of the way , He has bigger cam's then what came in it , I'am not sure of what size , He has also had a 95 in HD kit in his old bike no trouble there eather both would be good choices , If you got 100,000 from your HD evo then just redo it with the HD 95in kit cheeper in parts & your still HD all the way

I just saw the other day in American Iron Magizine that S&S engines are now EU compliant....or at least EU compliant for GERMANY and TUV..... Figure that if they comply with TUV, then rest of EU should be a piece of cake!!! Not sure what the cost is, so if the Euro is the problem (due to cost), can understand why the rebuild.... Good luck!
