Folks try to drink Lite beer so they can cut down on their calorie intake
I don't like Lite beer myself.

My wife started brewing beer and now I can't go back to the crap that is mass produced. I wonder how much that plays into the losses they are seeing? Home brew generally has less alcohol and tastes better. I like it.

That sounds more like wine than beer. Beer you have to boil. At least any I've seen. Not saying that's not what the instructions were. But add water and wait? Couldn't have been much in flavor that way I wouldn't think.

Guinness has been my favorite for years...I will only drink it on tap though...I will drink Yuengling porter from a bottle though...Not bad on tap either...Pottsville PA is only about a 2 hour ride from me...They bought the Stroughs brewery in Fla a few years ago to expand their market...Americas oldest brewery and owned and operated by the Yuengling family...No outsiders...

There are some decent beers made in America
but too many think Bud is a great beer, it's a good mass
produced beer, and it's no longer American bought by Stella Artois | She is a Thing of Beauty

Never did like it much, and I've drank my share of light beer in
school, but prefer the darker heavier ales...

Home Brew usually has more alcohol than mass produced beer. My dad is a home brewer and his averages about 7%. He has made a few that the AC was 11% :D

Don't think so...It was a long time ago...It was a bag with a push button spout towards the bottom of the bag...

There are some fantastic beers brewed in the USA. Get out to Cascadia in the Pacific northwest and there are a number of good to very good craft brewers. I no longer drink alcohol but drank more than my fair share of some decent brews. Having a malting background gives a person a good understanding of beer.. I've probably sung this song before but the great thing about Budweiser is it's consistency from brewery to brewery. It's a pale beer, low colour and those are hard to keep consistent..A high colour beer can hide problems with lower colour malt to get the colour back within spec but if you get your Bud a little too dark you have a harder time getting it to spec out properly.

That Mr. Beer kit is what I bought my dad for Christmas not all that long ago. He used that kit for about a year but he quickly moved on to much more advanced equipment. He brews mainly darker beers, most of which I like but there have been some that have just been awful. :puke:

I think those that brew their own beer do it because they like to...May be a hobby for them...Probably don't save much $$ either...May cost more for all I know...I just go down to the liquor store and get what I want...I believe in the KISS method...Keep It Simple Stupid...Works for me...LOL...

That's a real tuff one to answer. If you drink a lot of beer, probably not. But if you want a good beer and don't over consume the stuff then yes. But I don't count cause my wife is the brewer. It's her hobby which I benefit from. Would I do it myself, probably not. Although if I could pick up where she is now with her recipes and not have to go through all the experimenting, then yes. It's not hard at all. Just time consuming.

I put Redneck Budweiser on the grocery list. The OL goes to Wally World and come home with it and sticks it in the Frig.
When I want one its there.
    Is that simple enough.

Bud is worse than drinking that Mex piss water beer. You got to set your standards a bit higher to enjoy the richness of a really good beer, CB.
Here is one that I found is an excellent light beer if you like a light beer. Has very good flavor and the quality is outstanding.

    Alaskan Brewing Company - Amber
