NKG Iridium IX Spark Plugs

Just bought a set of NKG Iridium spark plugs for my 01' Heritage and was wondering if anyone has tried them?

I ran the hd plugs then switched to the split fire, couldn't tell you if they make a difference, I never noticed, but I'm sure someone will give the run down on the differn't plugs.

The NGK's should work fine for ya....like chuck said no difference with the high priced plugs, a sharp bright blue spark is all the combustion chamber needs, doesn't matter what type of plug provides it. the HD plugs here in Canuck land is around $7.00Cdn, so I use the $3.00 Champion RA8HC in the Twinkie and the Evo

I got Denso Iridium plugs for a race engine & really like 'em - I assume the NGK's are basically the same. That engine has 13:1 compression & while the plug change showed no difference on the dyno, the engine starts almost instantly & runs a bit smoother. But for the street bikes, good ol' Autolite plugs @ about $1.75 ea. work every bit as good.

And a lot of the fancy plugs require more voltage than a stock ignition system supplies - you can actually lose performance with expensive plugs & a stock ignition. Race engine's got dual-plugged heads, a coil for each cylinder, etc. - nothing stock about it & a LOT more voltage to the plugs.

But what I have seen is the more expensive plugs & definitely the Iridiums, do last a lot longer than a standard type like the Autolites I like. Enough longer to justify the additional cost? You'd have to be the judge on that.

It is to dang cold to ride. Snow sucks. I look forward to riding season this year and trying out new plugs.

What Art said. I run the same Champion as Lucifer, $1.75 here in the States. The HD plugs are actually the Champions in disguise, your paying the extra for the MOCO logo.
