I just purchased on E-Bay a gutted (no cat) exhaust pipe for my Ultra. No other mods,i.e. tuner. Have put about 3 hundred miles on it and the bike seems to run perfectly. So now I got V&H slippons and a cleaned out ex.pipe.. My opinion now is putting all that extra $$$ into tuners, of course can get you some more HP and Torque, but I don't need it. JMO

I'm not sure it is a "brand", As I said I just did a google search for cat free Harley pipes and found this ad though E-Bay. Several came up. This guy wanted $68,98 with free shipping and no sales tax so I figured for a $400 or so savings I'd chance it. It turned out good. For all I know it could be somebody working from his garage.

Hey Charlie thanks for the info. I contacted the seller and they will fit. So I went ahead and ordered a set. I still have an old set from my 12 CVO for the exchange. So will have a rainy day project to do. Thanks again.

Good. That's gotta be the guy. although it says 'exchange' I didn't have to send back my old pipe. I would gladly but I didn't get any request for them or shipping instructions. So I still have the old one. I took off the right lower fairing on my '14 ultra so as to get to the front ex. flange nuts. That's may be some trouble for you with the water cooling. I'm sure you can handle it, just needing more time for the job.

That's what I hear from guys who have the newer bikes: more stuff added on, more stuff to take off.

I have a set of 1/4 sockets and ratchets plus a couple of 1/4 inch wobble extensions that work excellent on the front header. I'll also put new header gaskets in. Don't think the water cooled will get in the way.

Not sure if you've opened up the air intake, if you have you may want to make sure that your bike isn't running too lean. I have a race tuner on mine just to have it so it isn't so lean and not running as hot as I pull a trailer most of the time and the bike gets a pretty good workout.. I think I will look into that header pipe.

All I can say is when I took the cat out on my 2012 SE the temp of the oil dropped by approx 20 degrees on a hot day.

I've got a 12 limited so i'll likely get a high flow air cleaner once I get the rest of it set up

Don't know if the '12 a/c is the same as the '14. 'May need a tuner.

CHanging the pipes or just filter you may not need to tune it
doing both the mufflers and header, eliminating the cat
and filter, you're getting close to running it on the edge of detonation
especially in hot weather as you are opening up a lot more air
    and zero additional fuel.

YOur choice, I opt for a tuner, and if properly done you will get
more power and better fuel economy, not to mention you'lll
stop roasting your balls over an open fire...

It's interesting the 2014 water cooled heads really do run cooler. This 2014 bike of mine as I said before runs much cooler than the 2012 did. Still don't like the cat blocking the air flow. Yes, if you don't change the filter most likely you won't have to put a tuner on it. However a tuner will enhance the performance of the bike.

Got the tuner already. i'll get a high flow air cleaner. the headpipes are on the way and i'll give it a go with the stock mufflers, should move a little more air and less heat would be good. Got lots of time now. Winter gives us time to work on projects and you don't feel bad about missing riding time cause when winter hits up here you ain't ridin

I hear that. We get an isolated day or two now and then throughout the fall/winter/early spring, but it does get quite cold at times, getting in the teens, twenties and thirties.

Hoping your project comes out well for you.
