my house is heated 1/2 propane and 1/2 fuel oil. Woke up at 3:30am came downstairs and propane fire place was out. It's -8 out. Went outside and sure enough no propane. Got the salamander out brought it in the house and got the house back up to acceptable tempeture.....70-73 degrees. Gotta go to work for 8am and would like to take a shower. Called propane folks and they'll be coming when they get here. That poses a dilemma because they'll need to come in and check kitchen stove, dryer and propane fireplace insert. If they're not here I'll need to leave the front for open, don't like that. It's 6:30am now....country living! Pipes didn't freeze yet.

Its supose to be automatic-fill but I guess they aren't factoring in this shitty winter. When I called they were like "We're not expecting you'd need propane till April".....not going there...I just asked for them to come as soon as possible. And they kinda did.

I'd checked the oil last week and had them come thursday as that was down to a 1/4 tank. And I'll be keeping an eye on the propane too.

I imagine with your extra cold weather that you are using twice the fuel. I just read where some people left their dog outside and animal control found him froze to the ground and paws bleeding and froze together. Don't understand people like that. He was taken to a vet but is in bad shape.

Phucking people...How about we leave them outside and see how they like it? Pets are better than people...

I've never been in temps that cold and don't want to. Think I'll go for a ride this afternoon. Gotta wait till the temps reach 50 at lest, suppose to get up to 60 this afternoon.

Hard cold makes everything one does outside harder, more difficult.

We had some days recently in the low single digits; mighty cold for around here. Only thing I'm doing outside today is taking Radar for a walk.

I don't understand people leaving their dogs out in winter anyway. Lot of that around here. "Yard dogs" they call them. They get a dog or several dogs and leave them out in the yard and basically forget them.

My ex next door neighbor had two dogs and in the winter would go off for days at a time. I'd find the dog's water frozen solid and food dish empty. He wouldn't tell anybody he was gone. The first time I thawed the ice out of the water bowl, it was slimy green with algae. I gave him what for on several occasions but it was like talking to a brick wall.
Some people just don't have a clue.

Josh next time call the county on him, when he's gone with the dogs leashed up in freezing cold and ice covered slimy bowls and no food,

THey'll take the dog so it gets to a better owner and he'll go to jail or get fined or both.

And then jbob will be left living next to a pissed off neighbor. Depending on the neighbor that could be anything from ignoring you to flattening your car tires or worse.

Yea, but at least the dogs would be saved and still alive.

Then ya take the pissed off neighbor and stake him to the ground in winter. Pee on him and then kick him between the legs. Of course no witnesses also. His word against yours.
