Hey I'm new here and just have a couple questions [ for now ], I just bought my first Harley, an 02 883c, with 4438 miles. question is,, I was told it had the 1200 kit in it, but how do I know for sure, does not seem like it while riding, or is there not that much of a difference ? I do know it has the stock jets in the carb, and has the screaming eagle air breather, but I didn't that a breather would make much of a difference.

    THANKS,

Seems to me about 40% more displaement ought to make a big diff.

The bike is only 10 years old and there still should be a significant difference in performance. One of my ex-students did the same to his 883 about 5 or 6 years ago. I think his is roughly the same vintage as yours. He upgraded his CV carb with a tuners kit from CV Performance and some Screaming Eagle parts (don't remember what they were). He claims his bike is a "screamer" now!

How do you know the difference in performance - have you ridden an older 883 and compared it to what you're riding now? Sometimes you have to tweak the exhaust and jetting in your carb for best results. Do some research and find out what, if anything, you need to do . . . .

Ask the seller for proof of the upgrade... Receipts from parts, labor etc...
or show you the old 883 parts..
