O ring chain

    I feel like a complete dummy but here goes. I have a couple of final drive chains (o ring, 530) and both have tight spots in them. When is a tight spot to big? and when is a good time to change them? Is it good to clean them with a rag and kerosene? These chains are o ring chains but should I be putting that lube on them that will stick to a greased pig? and to everything within five feet of my bike. Thanks

    i never liked any tight spots....i would try to lube them to rid the spot. if it didnt leave i replaced it. there are newer lubes that are a dry lube that seem to work pretty good on the chains.

    I used to run both 530 & 620's O-Ring Chains. If you have a tight spot on an O-Ring Chain it showing you that there is no longer lube in the rollers and pins. Rust is forming. Getting a cleaning solvent and then lube into the chain PAST the O-Rings is doubtful. Time for new chains before one of 'em lets go.
