I would recommend finding out what the law is in your state first. The frame is a serialized item and is married to the VIN and most states require a reconstruct title if you use a new frame. Some states will allow you to carry a notarized copy of the MSO as proof of ownership.

If the bike is financed, better check with the bank 'cause it may not suit them to well either.

Simplest way to do it is to modify the OE frame. No title hassles to worry about and a stock OE frame is not exactly a gold mine.

There are TC frames out there, check the magazines a couple have frame, sheet metal etc cataloged

CD is correct you need to check title laws in your state, some are a b(tch when it comes to home construction, the frame should come with a MSO (Manuf Statement of Origin)

I would keep the stock frame and parts in case you get tired and want to sell the dyna, or as CD says find a custom builder in your area that builds and modifies frames (friggin one of these up can be expensive and fatal)

You can do a lot to a stock dyna, custom sheet metal, raked trees, longer forks, custom wheels bars etc to make it really custom, just keep the stock frame and motor in the frame (remove it to paint or chrome)

If you truely want a custom JMO, sell the dyna and buy a TC motor 88, 95 or 103 there are deals out there, and build a kit.

    Dartwelder,
My experience states that if you want to save yourself a headache in the long run, re-work the frame you have. If you're trying for the total custom jobbie, Run with a rolling chassis and go custom from the ground up. Tends to be, when you start changing frame from an OEM ride, you start running into problems w/ the local laws. Just my 2cents worth. Ultimately the choice is yours as to how much you want to deal with. I run with guys that have gone both directions, and the one's that built their scoot from the ground up were happier with the end results.

Atlas makes a dyna frame for 2 cam with any rake/stretch (within limits I'm sure). They put together rolling chassis, too. Use pretty good quality components for all.

Yup, that’s what I got\did, My bike is an Atlas "Dragon" of which their are two models: Swing-arm, or rigid. Had to do the swing-arm, back cant take the hard tail, takes about 80% of the OEM dyna parts. Twin cam or Evo.

    I LOVE MY BIKE… ;)
