My '95 XLH has an analog speedometer with a digital odometer. The 100 mile position digit is whacked out (only reads the right side of the LED or whatever they use in there).

I have E-mailed almost every odometer repair place in the US and can't find one who will touch a motorcycle speedometer. I don't want to spend the big bucks on new one, and it is more of a nusiance than a neccesity, but things like this drive me nuts! I want everything to work and work right, and this is my pride and joy.:)

ANYBODY out there know were I can get this fixed for a reasonable price and at an honest place? I'll be happy to remove it and ship it to....???

-OR- Does anybody have a good working one that who wants to sell it?

    THANKS!

the dealer is the only route........as they are a sealed unit. i cant even replace my light without it going to the mfg.....sucks big time. i have spent some time researching this. it mostly stems from "big brother" not wanting you messin with actual milage.........

There are some aftermarket speedometer manuf companies, DP probably has some replacement companies out there,

You could also go to a wrecking yard and get one off a totalled bike but the mileage would be off.

Buddy has the same issue on a 98 RK, he just lives with it.

Dealer can do an OEM replacement .

I had the same thing on my 98, but I got it replaced under warranty.

It kind of looked like black ink running between the numbers.

The great thing was that I told the stealership that I had 4,000 miles on it and by the time the new one came in I had 10,000 miles on the bike.:)

I would think with a little ranting and raving that you might be able to get a new one out of them. After all, this is a common problem that they had those years.

    Good luck AZ

Thanks, Tom. I can rant and rave. It's worth a shot since I have nothing to loose, but it is 11 years old so I won't hold my breath.

My other alternative is to keep riding until I get to 17,1xx.x miles and slow down for the next 99 miles. The one (1) seems to appear OK!
