I have a 99 Softail custom and I can't seem to locate the engine oil drain plug. I've looked under the engine and I see no plug or screws under there anywhere. The only thing I see is where the chrome oil lines run up to the oil filter from the engine. Thanks in advance for any help you can give on the subject.

i am not positive, but i think the softtail has a seprate oil bag under the seat.....but i think the best advise is to get a service manual.....it will help you to not pull the wrong plug and save you a ton of money and time......let alone the aggravation of screwing something up........they are not expensive and will save money.......and time:)

    Oil Drain

On the right side of the bike, just behind the transmission on the inside of the frame rail you will see a oil hose that has a plug in the end. The plug should be held in the hose by a worm geared hose clamp and the other end of the plug will be secured to the frame by a bendable loop on the frame. All of this is in the shop manual and it will be the most valueable tool in your toolbox.

    Thanks for the Help

Thanks for the help. I also went out and got a Service manual yesterday and it helped with other questions that I had. :)

Always glad to help a brother in uniform. Thanks for the job that you do and the sacrifices that come with the territory. I'm retired Air Force and have a son serving in Iraq with the Marines
