Oil drained out of Oil pressure gauge

    I have one of those oil pressure gauges that is oil filled. Somehow the oil drained out. Can this be fixed?

    I think they are filled with glycerin to dampen the vibes, I would look on the back of the gauge , some of them have plugs and you might be able to refill it but you will have to fix the leak first so it doesnt happen again, I bet they are pretty cheap maybe just scrap it, Todd

    for 50 buckI think I would play around with it for a little anyway, what size gauge is it you may be able to find one at an auto parts store, also usually places that sell sprayers for agricultural use carries all sorts of gauges, It just wouldnt say Harley on them

    vdo makes gauges for harley.....i went to the auto parts and purchased mine. plug and play, just doesnt say harley on them........saved a bundle!!!

    just run down to the local hydraulics supply and get the guage of choice, make sure its glycerin filled to dampen the vibes, like duke said then for 25 cents go to a vending machine and get a sticker out and apply.......same thing, as for filling the guage its less headaches to pitch and purchase.

    those particular gauges didnt seem to be glycerin filled....i didnt search the site, but i think i would check with the local hydraulic co. if i needed an oil filled one......
