Oil filter relocating...

    Guys, does anyone know if it's okay to relocate my shovelhead oil filter to the back of the frame area by the rear wheel? Kinda like some bikes that Indian Larry built. He welded a oil filter bracket to the frame and ran lines back to and from it.
    Will the longer lines create a problem with oil pressure?
    Has anyone done this? Results?
    I don't want to do this and then find out my engine is starving for oil.

    You can buy kits at Napa, Summit Racing, then weld them up and run lines
    they use them on race cars and such...

    or check with Fab Kevin

    Wouldn't you be worried about road debris or when you are in the corner really hard that that oil filter goes bye bye?

    you can make a bracket & mount it where you want , I tried to find the pics from my shovle , but could'nt , the mount was almost like the pic HRK posted & right behind the primer cover a few inches :D
