Folks working in the oilfield will understand the accuracy of the following:

A clunker that travels 12,000 miles a year at 15 mpg uses 800 gallons of gas a year.
A vehicle that travels 12,000 miles a year at 25 mpg uses 480 gallons a year.
So, the average Cash for Clunkers transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption by 320 gallons per year.
They claim 700,000 vehicles so that's 224 million gallons saved per year.
That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.

5 million barrels is about 5 hours worth of US consumption
More importantly, 5 million barrels of oil at $70 per barrel costs about $350 million dollars.

So, the government paid $3 billion of our tax dollars to save $350 million.
We spent $8.57 for every dollar we saved!

I'm pretty sure the government will do a great job with our health care, though.....

I'd have to go out of the house, and ride all the way to town and git some crazy glue to put the double sided velcrow tape to my battery.
I left this mornin, went to the HD dealer and got the battery.
And went to a Ice House and had a few beers.
    I'm in for tonite.

While I was at the HD dealer, thought I'd ask how much they was gittin for a Screaming Eagle Ultra.
The salesman said 3500.00 over MSRP.
I said I won't pay Fair Market Value.
The salesman said we will not sell you a CVO bike then.

Cardboard our HD dealer has a 2010 Burnt orange with flames Screaming Eagle Ultra sitting on the show room. Beautiful bike and they want 39,500 for it. They can keep it for that price. Shoot you could buy a really good new pickup for that price or less.

    :rant:I have a 97 E350 7.3 Powerstroke van that has like 235,000 on it.
    And I have a 99 1/2 F250 Lariat Super Cab 4x4 with a 7.3 Powerstroke diesel in it , with like 160,000 on it.
I will not trade either of them for another truck.

If I find a deal and can save the money I want one more new shiney Motorcycle.
I went with a FLHT last time.
This time it will be a Ultra. I would like the Se model

A dude I know at the HD dealer was showing me a new Billet crank they have.
This crankshaft is suppost to handle all the Hp you want to put on it.
And he was talkin about a 113cu motor they have been doing that puts out like 122hp and 124 tq.
HD has a new kit out and not many folks know about it.

Anyway my OL ain't told me I could have a new bike unless i saved the money for it and paid cash. And I got a long way to go.
    I've only got about 4000.00
I could use some help with donations:D:D..................

Don't forget the number of Japanese jobs we saved by sending half of it to Japan

It's sad that Americans will take USA tax dollars, from USA citizens, give it to Washington
and then go out and buy a Japanese car with USA Taxpayer dollars..

I don't care if they do have plants in the USA, on some Japanese vehicles they are 0% USA made, and in all cases some of the money goes back to Japan.

When you consider that the deal was to eliminate clunkers for better MPG, the Prius was a top bought car, and it's 100% made in Japan...

I guess people can't stop buying Toyotas

If youd got that Texas bike you wouldn't have to worry about yer TV and Breakfast - just do it while yer ridin!
Chuck can drive and ya can eat and watch TV at the same time - but I don't know if the fridge is stocked with tacos or not.
You could have chuck swing thru the Taco carry out and get some to go - use the mircowave to heat em up for you.
And if ya don't bug him to much he might even bring a bottle of jack along so ya got something to wash it all down with. :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:
FLHTbiker and I could ride down with cameras and get pics of that - it would be a kodak moment!! :roflmao:
