First off I want to say hello.I've been riding since I was 13 tears old.I've had Limey bikes'Honda's Kawa's'Harleys.I started on a honda 50 .I'm not ashamed it was my first bike and I loved it.When I was 15 I bought a 59 CH sportster for 500 bucks.I think I pushed that bike as much as I drove it.I learned how to wrench because of that bike.
In 1984 I had a 56 pan head hard tail.custom.I had a really bad wreck.I quit ridin' for years.I had a bad heart attack last year and said **** it I'm gonna ride again.I bought 89 fxsts (softail springer. That was really built.I have never worked on an EVO.It is tired and needs work.I would reall appreciate picking a few brains as I'm gonna tear it down soon.I'm an old drywall hanger that is diisabled,no RUB here.money is tight but I have to ride. That is my life.

My first ride/minibike was a vespa motor scooter that had been my dads. I rode it like it was a dirt bike. I wonder to this day how I survived. I then bought with my paper route money, a Kaw 100cc dirt bike. Had a blast with that thing. Then when I was old enough for a license, I got a Kaw 500 triple. Once again, not sure how I survived. They were pretty quick and handled pretty bad in the corners. From there I had 3 different Kaw 900's. They were a cool bike. Fast but still not a handling dream. I then decided to slow down a bit and got my first Harley, and actually my only Harley, a 2000 Dyna Wide Glide. I absolutely love the thing. A comfortable ride and after a few mods, runs pretty respectable for what it is. Aren't motorcycles great? How boring life would be without them.

Welcome from a fellow old fart. I have been riding over 30 yrs. Nothin' but Harleys. Well a Cushman Eagle but I dont count that. I have owned 4 Harleys in my lifetime and still have 3 of them, the oldest being my Shovelhead which i bought 26 years ago. The one that got away was a '49 pan which my cousin totaled while I was in Nam. I also have an Evo, a 99 Fatboy on steroids so let us know what you are doing Im sure you will find plenty of help and encouragement here. The Evo motor is nothing to be afraid of. AL
