i dont live in the desert, but i do live in south east texas. temps are in the 100's and high 90's half of the year. i run 60wt in my 06 geezer glide. the brand i use is "bikers choice". it is a straight weight, non synthetic. much cheaper than the syns also.....

Way back when 1971 I lived in the desert & had a sporty 68 model & I ran straight 50 wt year round with no trouble , but I did have a oil cooler with cover for the colder time of year , & i was younger & ran it pretty hard back then:D
