That didn't see them is the big excuse every time. Very sorry to hear this. Getting very scary to ride anymore especially when in heavy traffic.

Yep, that's why I put the Daymaker LEDs on the front and the Custom Dynamics white LED turn signals, very bright every little bit helps.

Curious why he couldn't see them as they were both coming towards each other? I don't know how old the cage driver was.

I do know that old old cage drivers are very inept.

Went to the leather shop yesterday on my bike and parked in a spot next to the stairs right in the middle of the spot. A car pulled into the spot next to me at a slight angle not having made the necessary angle to park straight and half in my parking spot in an angle half in his spot and half in mine. I look and its an old old guy. I said to him before he gets out of the car to let me back out first so he can get out without hitting my bike. He hears me, looks at me and gets out of the car anyways. He could only open His door partially, gets out, walks away? What an F'ing ahole.

I can't believe the number of drivers that have pulled out or started to pull in front of me from a side street. Quit frankly most of them are women who seem to be in such a hurry that they don't want somebody being in front of them.
Man if your not watching close you may not make it.

Sunday a co worker was in burlington,vt and cafrefull pulled into the right lane while in town. I girl in a civic came flying out of a parking spot side swiped the motorcycle trying to get ahead of him to catch the lite embedding the peg in her car and dragged him and the bike down the road. WTF. Bike rider okay. Bike was not bad. Engine guard and pegs kept damage from being worse.

As far as the nurse getting killed they were coming toward each other on the same road when the car turned in front of them. How could he not see them?

Since I do most food shopping now the large number of a-holes that can't park in the lines is crazy. I think that driver Ed is slacking and driver not giving a chit increasing. It's very convened to say "I didn't see him" and thru know that's enough to get off with. "What the hell, they were just dirt bag bikers".

Well if the sun was behind the bikers, maybe, or other cars with lights
but most likely degraded eye sight, the guy maybe really didn't see them
because he can't normally see shidt anyway.

IF they don't see me they are lying LOL

I did have a dickstick in truck pull out in front
of my old RG, coming across two lanes to the center
and then out into my two lanes, coming out of a gym
in a hurry to beat the traffic from the light that
    just changed.

Swerved to keep from being hit, and zoomed around him
and slowed down, way below the limit, so I could give him
the finger and some attitude, guy never caught up...

Nonetheless, you're right, cover the brake and watch any cars
    coming at you...

I've been covering the front brake with 2 fingers since 1976. All the time except on lonely limited access interstates. I took an Advanced Rider Course a few years ago and one instructor who is a retired NYPD Moto Cop who competes on rodeos kept yelling at me to take my fingers off the brake. I tried explaining to him but he kept yelling. Finally I gave him a yell back and a F You I'm not removing them you a-hole. He shut up and said some day I'll hit a bump and lose control. Since 76 I hit many bumps and pot holes without losing control BUT those fingers saved my azz a few times.

Yeah it's not like I have them curled and pulled
riding the brake like a noo joisy housewife on the
    way to da market....

I just rest them out on the handle, and sometimes not, depending
on the ride, but in the city, yeah I'm trying to be a bit more alert
    and ready.

Now If I could just mount an auto shotgun to the front with finger
button trigger mounted, pull out and I'm gonna hammer that shotgun

Or maybe a samurai sword, a Katana, mounted to the front fender
cut bambi and jay walkers off at the knees....

In a rodeo if you tugged the front brake by accident, you'd end up doing a face plant,(those guys are awesome to watch)... been doing it like that since the 70's too...
You needed every advantage you could get with drum brakes lol:)

Ya don't have to worry about a-hole cage drivers in a rodeo competition!

You sound like one of those who never use the interstate.

The interstate is better in so many ways. Don't have to worry about being turned into, better vision of the traffic flow, make good time to name a few.

Shoot the only time I got hit while riding was on the interstate. Women crossed over into my lane couple years ago and her rear bumper clipped my front tire on my Springer. Caused me to go into the emergency lane, no she didn't stop doubt she even knew it. I've had numerous times someone not looking and either pull right into me or start to. Loud pipes do help.

road type doesn't matter they all have issues,

Interstates are full of NASCAR wannabees, wimmen putting on makeup, cell phone aholes, self righteous lane blockers, inattentive people the plus being you generally don't have to worry about someone pulling across an intersection or hitting you head on. The minus is you're trapped on a high speed road with no where to go safely without an exit or pull off.

Back roads have more access to animals, domesitc and wild, you're running head on with nothing between you and the oncoming traffic but paint, driveways, side roads, intersections

You know the dummy heard that 90 % of accidents happen withing 5 miles of your home, so he moved.....
