As I'm getting ready to start my cam(s) swap in the new('07-FLHT...still new to me):)bike I decide to e-mail PowerCommander & inquire about a new "map" to run.I should have known the reply was gonna be the usual:"we have no other "map" than the existing one you're already using". (M812-035)
I found a map for a 103" kit w/S.E.-255 CAMS(.550"-lift)but thats as close as I could get.The message here was you need to "DYNO" tune the bike for the best performance mapping potential.:gah:
My plan is to do the cam swap, ride the bike w/the map I have now & try to make a few adjustments on the front of the "PC".I will eventually have it "DYNO" tuned, just didn't care for the tech-line "EASY ANSWER".
Thanks for hearing my rant,00 wildglide:rolleyes:

    FWIW don't get the powercommander

Bump the budget a bit and get a Zippers Thundermax, it comes with two wide band o2 sensors and it auto tunes your bike based on your setup.

Never need a dyno again. Change pipes, it retunes, change cams it retunes.

JMO if you do go powercommander you really do need to have it dyno tuned to get it right for your bike. No map is going to be perfect for a bike in FL and also for one in CO.

Plus powercommander got hit with a big fine from CARB because the product allows non CARB approved changes, in the millions so they are selling it for off road use only and you have to do the tuning yourself

Thank you friendly AL Bore buddies in the wacky state of fruit and nuts.

HRK, we don't like it any better than you do, but you forgot the third ingredient in granola, the flakes! A lot of the dealers out here have either quit doing engine mods and stopped selling anything that is not EPA certified or they tell their customer up front that they will install "customer supplied parts" and you MUST go to a dyno and have it tuned in order to run. I'm becoming a beleaver in the thundermax to be able to do further mods and not have to spend $400 to get a bunch of dyno runs to make the map right. EPA and CARB have tied everyones hands out west and you know they'll be flexing their muscles across the rest of the country in the not to distant future.
