    Hey all,

I haven't been on here much lately due to my stupid busy work schedule and such. But I've been a member of this great forum for a few years and thought I would share my news.

I have been in the AF for over 21 years, served in the Philippines, Korea, Germany, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Italy, and loved most every minute of it. I was supposed to deploy to Operation Enduring Freedom this winter, but my wife had major back surgery last month (from which she is recovering well), so I stayed home. Guess I'll get on the next one.

So last Wednesday the 12th, I went to work like usual, only it was not a usual day. I found out, on the Internet no less, that I was selected for promotion to SMSgt (E-8)!! :D

It's finally sinking in, I have to grow up. Especially since today I turned the big 4-0. I guess that's a milestone too.

In my life I have been blessed with a wonderful family and career, and with living in and working for, a great and free country. This is all just too good to keep to myself.

I appreciate the support you all here have given the military, both with your service to our country, and your genuine concern for, and support of, all our troops. It's folks like you who help keep our country great. Please pass it on. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

    Joe,
Congratulations, I spent 23 years in the Air Force and had a wonderful time. I've been out for almost fourteen now, but still supporting the troops. I'm a manager for the B-1B Technical Publications deaprtment which does the updates for the B-1 TO's. Keep up the good work and you'll make Chief. What's your AFSC??

    Joe,
Still have my "PISSPOT" now I make my living showing the 462's (2W1's) how to load bombs. I guess the jokes on them. I was doing this for about three years and they even gave me a coin before they found out I was a 461. Keep up the good work.
