Can a petcock that is operated by vacoum be taken apart and converted to manual operation only, or is my best bet just to purchase a new one.

Why convert, are you going to a manifold without a vac port?

Looks like a vacoum leak, will not hold a vacuom

Just get a stock replacement, they work fine, if the petcock is fubar'd dump it and
buy an aftermarket or HD style replacement...

Safer than a gravity feed, that's why it's a vac feed

Not saying don't go get a pingle, I have one on the heritage but
it outflows the stock one... which I need
